'A fun-filled spooky mystery that'll keep you turning the page.' The Wishing Shelf

REVIEW
I very much enjoyed this fantasy/mystery from the talented pen of E B Hauk. The first part of a trilogy, it follows Heck McTyre (cool name), who's a freelance necromancer (I wonder if you can do a degree in that) who gets to unbox an unmarked grave on camera to all his followers. But…
…the coffin is empty!!!
What follows is an often highly amusing adventure filled with a number of 'odd' characters, and a lot crazy twists and turns nobody will ever see coming. Yes, in terms of unpredictability, it's top notch.
So, what did I enjoy the most? Well, I loved the freelance necromancer plot; it's so utterly original, and I LOVE original. Talking of original, Heck McTyre isn't much of a sleeper; not surprising considering that when he sleeps he ends up in the Underworld! I told you it was unpredictable. I also enjoyed the humour very much. There's a number of laugh out loud moments where I, well, laughed out loud. Excellent stuff! Oh, and I liked that it was just a little bit spooky; not too spooky, just a little bit – you know the sort, when you get a tingle down your spine – I'm talking about the hand in the coffin now, but you'll have to read the book to find out more.
So, if you enjoy any of the following – mystery, horror, thriller, comedy, crazy unforgettable characters – then this novel is for you. Admittedly, it's a bit short, and the pacing is, well, rather haphazard; still it's a thoroughly compelling story, the sort you'll never get bored reading. So check out this book NOW! If the next two books turn out just as good, it's going to be a FAB trilogy.
